Chris, from your email I received, it sounds like there is an issue with your hard drive. I would recommend the following:

1) 1st Defragment the hard drive. With XP, you can locate this by going to Start, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter. Then Select your hard drive and click on Defragment. It is a good idea to set this up so that your hard drive is defragmented every week of so. Basically, this allows parts of every datafile to be located closer together on the hard drive. It will also improve your optimization speed, since the harddrive will not have to search for data all over the hard drive surface...

2) After that is complete, try to run GM again with the tracks you are having trouble with. If you are still having freezes, then it is likely the Database(s) are corrupted. This can happen if power is lost to your computer when a database is open, if the hard disk is having problems, etc.

3) You have three options:

a) Complete uninstall. Go to Start, Greyhound Master, and click on Uninstall Greyhound Master. When the Uninstall program asks if you want to remove additional files, select YES. This option will delete all your track databases and handicapping settings! Then go to www.greyhoundmaster.com and download and reinstall the program.

b) Delete only selected track databases that you are having trouble with. Refer to http://www.greyhoundmaster.com/forum/yaf_postst12_Questions-about-Greyhound-Master.aspx third post down for info on how to do this.

c) A combination of a) and b). First delete the folder c:\Program Files\Greyhound Master\Data. This will delete all your track databases, but save your handicapping settings. Then do a partial uninstall. Go to Start, Greyhound Master, and click on Uninstall Greyhound Master. When the Uninstall program asks if you want to remove additional files, select NO. Then go to www.greyhoundmaster.com and download and reinstall the program.

Good handicapping!
Scott
